Turkish metal producers' foreign sales prices up 4.15% in Jan from Dec

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in January this year Turkish producers' foreign sales price index (PPI)* in general rose by 5.73 percent over December and was up 22.48 percent year on year, while an average rise of 8.53 percent was registered for the latest 12 months.

In January this year, the foreign sales prices of producers in the Turkish domestic basic metal industry increased by 4.15 percent on month-on-month basis and were up 15.76 percent compared to January 2013. Meanwhile, the average increase in prices for the latest 12 months was 1.40 percent.

On the other hand, in January of the current year Turkish producers' foreign sales prices for domestic manufactured metal products, except machinery, rose 4.87 percent compared to December and were up 25.53 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the sector in question, an average increase of 9.50 percent of prices was registered in the latest 12 months.

*Foreign sales price index indicates changes of Turkish producers' prices for other countries.
