Turkish metal manufacturing capacity use declines in May

According to the provisional data released by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, in May this year the capacity utilization rate in the Turkish basic metal manufacturing industry was 75 percent, down 2.7 percentage points compared to the previous month, while the capacity utilization rate in the Turkish basic metal manufacturing industry was 79 percent in May 2012.

Meanwhile, in May of the current year the capacity utilization rate in the manufacture of metal products, except machinery and equipment, decreased by 0.4 percentage points month on month to 71.4 percent, but was up from the 70.6 percent recorded in May 2012.

The capacity utilization rate in Turkey's general manufacturing industry, on the other hand, was at 74.8 percent in May this year, indicating an increase of 1.2 percentage points compared to April and up slightly from 74.7 percent in May 2012.
