Turkish HRC import volume up 2.4 percent in January-July

In July this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) imports increased by 34.8 percent year on year to 451,730 metric tons, up 24.4 percent compared to June, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These imports had a value of $223.5 million, rising by 22.9 percent month on month and up 52.4 percent year on year.

In the first seven months of the current year, Turkey's HRC imports amounted to 2.42 million mt, up 2.4 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 49.2 percent to $1.2 billion, both year on year.
 
In the given period, Russia ranked first among Turkey's HRC import sources, with its HRC exports to Turkey amounting to 1,474,606 mt, up 57.6 percent year on year, followed by France which shipped 236,671 mt of HRC to Turkey in the given period.
