Turkish HRC import volume down 2.8 percent in H1

In June this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) imports increased by 13.1 percent year on year to 363,528 metric tons, up 11 percent compared to May, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These imports had a value of $181.8 million, rising by 11.7 percent month on month and up 39.7 percent year on year.

In the first half of the current year, Turkey's HRC imports amounted to 1.97 million mt, down 2.8 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 48.5 percent to $977.9 million, both year on year.
 
In the given period, Russia ranked first among Turkey's HRC import sources, with its HRC exports to Turkey amounting to 1,213,633 mt, up 54.15 percent year on year, followed by France which shipped 179,244 mt of HRC to Turkey in the given period.
