Turkish HRC import volume down 12.6 percent in January-April

In April this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) imports decreased by 5.4 percent year on year to 315,186 metric tons, down 18.3 percent compared to March, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These imports had a value of $161.4 million, falling by 17 percent month on month and up 57.4 percent year on year.

In the first four months of the current year, Turkey's HRC imports amounted to 1.27 million mt, down 12.6 percent, while the value of these imports increased by 41.2 percent to $627.4 million, both year on year.
 
In the given period, Russia ranked first among Turkey's HRC import sources, with its HRC exports to Turkey amounting to 841,235 mt, up 53.26 percent year on year, followed by France which shipped 95,895 mt of HRC to Turkey in the given period.
