Turkish consortium to ship 112.000 tons pipe to Algeria
Borusan Mannesmann Boru (BMB), Noksel and Umran consortium has been awarded with the largest
pipe supply tender held in Algeria.
115 milyon dollar and 665 km “Haoud El Hamra- Skikda NK1” oil pipeline project, will be built between energy sources rich Haoud El Hamra and Skikda located on the Mediterranean coast of the country. BMB – Noksel –Umran consortium will provide 112,000 tons of spiral welded pipes for the project.
Accordingly, Borusan Mannesmann Boru (BMB) will deliver 37,000 tons of
pipe to Sonatrach in 2006. BMB has already submitted 19,000 tons of spiral pipes to Algeria within the projects it has realized so far and it is producing 7,200 tons of pipes for the ongoing projects. With the completion NK1 project, BMB's share in Algeria market will increase to 63,200 tons in total.

Greece and Shahdeniz projects. Total scale of our target markets reached 2.7 million tons. The tendar we won in Algeria is highly important in terms of our international activities. NK1 project is a piece of a network consisting of many pipelines. In this regard, the potential growth we are expecting in Algeria is around 900,000 tons. In addition to Algeria,
Libya,
Iran,
Jordan and
Kuwait are also among our target markets. We are expecting our import to increase 20 percent to 230,000 tons in 2006”.
