Turkish auto sales increase by 57 percent in February

In the January-February this year, motor vehicle sales in Turkey totaled 95,099 units, increasing by 33 percent year on year, according to the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD). Meanwhile, in February of the current year motor vehicle sales in the country saw an increase of 57 percent compared to the same month of 2014, totaling 58,532 units. In the first two months of this year, passenger car sales in Turkey amounted to 65,315 units, increasing by 27 percent year on year. In February, passenger car sales increased by 50 percent year on year to 40,817 units.
 
On the other hand, in the January-February period of this year Turkey's motor vehicle exports came to 159,582 units, up 32 percent, while its passenger car exports amounted to 99,470 units, up 21 percent, both year on year. Revenues from total motor vehicle and component exports in the first two months of this year amounted to $3.51 billion, remaining stable, while the revenue from passenger car exports totaled $1.14 billion, rising by five percent, both on year-on-year basis.
 
In the January-February period of the current year, Turkey's total motor vehicle imports amounted to 58,626 units, while passenger car imports totaled 46,801 units, increasing by 23 percent and 21 percent year on year, respectively.
