Turkey’s wire rod export down 23.07 percent in H1

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in June this year Turkey's wire rod exports decreased by 38.5 percent year on year to 55,378 metric tons, down 22.5 percent month on month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $25.5 million, down 52.7 percent year on year and falling 20.8 percent compared to the previous month.


 
In the January-June period, Turkey's wire rod exports amounted to 423,144 mt, falling 23.07 percent, while revenues from these exports decreased by 38.6 percent to $200.63 million, both compared to the first six months of 2014.
 
In the first six months this year, Israel ranked first among Turkey's wire rod export destinations with imports totaling 122,429 mt, followed by the US which imported 106,957 mt of wire rod from Turkey, while Italy imported 23,940 mt.
