In May this year, Turkey's coking coal imports totaled 593,635 mt, down 17.66 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports was $66.2 million, rising by 67.3 percent year on year.
In the first five months of this year, Turkey's coking coal imports decreased by six percent to 2.2 million metric tons, while the value of these imports totaled $255.6 million, down 24.5 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In the January-May period this year, Turkey's coking coal imports from the US decreased by 35.72 year on year percent to 1,173,290 mt, while coking coal imports from Australia amounted to 520,918 mt.
