In April this year, Turkey's coking coal imports totaled 672,404 mt, up 99.9 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports was $77.5 million, rising by 67.3 percent year on year.
In the first four months of this year, Turkey's coking coal imports decreased by 0.82 percent to 1.61 million metric tons, while the value of these imports totaled $189.4 million, down 21.16 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In the January-April period this year, Turkey's coking coal imports from the US decreased by 31.15 year on year percent to 915,717 mt, while coking coal imports from Australia amounted to 357,284 mt.
