Turkey's automotive sales down 3.77 percent in September

In September this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey decreased by 3.77 percent year on year and were down by 22.5 percent month on month to 64,025 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey decreased by 4.4 percent year on year and were down by 23.7 percent month on month to 47,088 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles declined by 1.9 percent year on year and were up by 18.7 percent month on month to 16,937 units.
 
Meanwhile, in the January-September period this year domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles increased by 40 percent year on year, amounting to 662,988 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country increased by 36.6 percent year on year to 500,905 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles rose by 51.9 percent to 162,083 units, both on year-on-year basis.
