Turkey’s wire rod exports fall 35 percent in January

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in January this year Turkey's wire rod exports decreased 35.2 percent year on year to 75,119 metric tons, down 37.9 percent month on month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $38.9 million, down 44 percent year on year and falling by 39.6 percent month on month. In the given month, the average price of Turkey's wire rod exports stood at $517.8/mt, decreasing by $15.4/mt month on month and down from the average of $599/mt recorded in the same month of 2014.


 
In January, the US ranked first among Turkey's wire rod export destinations by importing 23,744 mt, followed by Brazil which imported 15,494 mt of wire rod from Turkey, while Italy imported 9,905 mt, rising three-fold year on year.
