According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in March this year Turkey's wire rod exports decreased by 1.65 percent year on year to 74,849 metric tons, down 1.3 percent month on month. The revenue from these exports amounted to $34.95 million, down 22.6 percent year on year and falling by 6.5 percent month on month.
In the January-March period, Turkey's wire rod exports amounted to 217,336 mt, falling 23.5 percent, while revenues from these exports decreased by 36 percent to $108.05 million, both compared to the first three months of 2014.
In the first three months this year, Israel ranked first among Turkey's wire rod export destinations with imports totaling 65,017 mt, followed by the US which imported 60,455 mt of wire rod from Turkey, while Italy imported 16,012 mt.
