Turkey’s steel section exports up 11.75 percent in Jan-Apr

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in April this year Turkey's total steel section exports amounted to 121,423 metric tons, falling by 14.7 percent year on year and down 20.7 percent compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $89.7 million, declining by 16.2 percent compared to April 2011 and down 21.8 percent month on month.

In the first four months of 2012, Turkey's steel section exports amounted to 581,363 mt, increasing by 11.75 percent compared to January-April 2011. Turkey's steel section exports to North America rose significantly in the first four months of 2012.
