Turkey’s steel pipe exports up 5.76 percent in Jan-Apr

According to the statistics provided by Turkey's Steel Exporters' Association (CIB), in April this year Turkey's total steel pipe exports amounted to 152,489 metric tons, increasing by 15.4 percent year on year.

In the January-April period of this year Turkey's total steel pipe exports amounted to 610,731 metric tons, rising by 5.76 percent compared to the corresponding period last year. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $575.2 million, up by 2.5 percent compared to January-April 2011.

Turkey's steel pipe exports to the US increased strongly in the first four months of 2012, while exports to the EU-27 declined almost by 20 percent, both compared to the same period last year. In the period in question, Turkey's steel pipe exports to North Africa and the Middle East saw important year-on-year increases.
