Turkey’s steel import value totals $1.33 billion in November

According to the provisional foreign trade statistics compiled by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) and the Turkish Undersecretariat of Customs, in November this year Turkey's iron and steel imports totaled $1.33 billion in value, increasing by 39.1 percent year on year and down five percent from October, while imports of articles of iron or steel rose by 26.5 percent compared to November 2009 and were down 1.11 percent month on month at $173.1 million.

Meanwhile, in the first 11 months of 2010, the country's iron and steel imports stood at $14.45 billion, while its imports of articles of iron or steel amounted to $1.75 billion, increasing by 42.4 percent and up 29 percent respectively, both compared to the corresponding period of 2009.
