In February of the current year,
Turkey's steel exports declined by 3.4 percent to 1.63 million mt, while the value of these exports decreased by three percent to $1.32 billion, both on year-on-year basis, according to the data released by the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers’ Association (TCUD).
In February this year,
Turkey's billet exports decreased by 41.5 percent year on year to 117,000 mt and flat steel exports decreased by 25.8 percent to 202,000 mt, while long steel exports increased by 12.2 percent to 1.03 million mt, all on year-on-year basis.
Meanwhile, in the first two months of the current year,
Turkey's steel exports decreased by 3.4 percent to 3.14 million mt, while the value of these exports fell 1.2 percent to $2.60 billion, both on year-on-year basis. In the given period,
Turkey's billet exports totaled 175,000 mt, down 62.8 percent, long steel exports totaled 1.98 million mt, up 13 percent, and flat steel exports amounted to 375,000 mt, down 20.2 percent, all on year-on-year basis.
In the January-February period this year,
Turkey's steel trade surplus ratio increased by nine percentage points year on year to 141 percent.
