In February this year,
Turkey's steel exports decreased by 10.5 percent year on year to 1.4 million mt, while the value of these exports totaled $943 million, down 20.6 percent on year-on-year basis, according to the data released by the Turkish Steel Exporters' Association (CIB).
In the first two months of this year,
Turkey's steel export declined by 12.8 percent to 2.6 million mt, while the value of these exports totaled 1.8 billion $, down 21.3 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-February period,
Turkey's main steel export destination was the Middle East, which received 1.11 million mt, up 7.1 percent year on year. The Middle East was followed by North America, the EU, North Africa, and Central and South America, which imported 501,000 mt, 313,000 mt, 223,000 mt and 221,000 mt of Turkish steel products respectively.
In the first two months,
Turkey's main exported steel product was
rebar with total
rebar exports amounting to 1.34 million mt.
Rebar was followed by steel
pipe exports totalling 285,000 mt, steel profile exports reaching 255,000 mt and hot rolled flat steel exports amounting to 175,000 mt.
