According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in December 2012 Turkey's stainless flat steel imports fell by 10.4 percent compared to the previous month, following three consecutive months of month-on-month increase and were down 12.6 percent compared to December 2011, amounting to 26,691 metric tons. The value of these imports was $67.5 million in December, decreasing by 10.1 percent as compared to November and down 18.4 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in 2012, Turkey's stainless flat steel imports amounted to 355,542 metric tons, increasing 0.8 percent compared to 2011. The value of these imports was $917.4 million, decreasing by 13.4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
