In October this year, Turkey's stainless flat steel imports decreased by 8.5 percent year on year, amounting to 46,105 metric tons, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports in September was $77.4 million, decreasing by two percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in the January-October period of the current year, Turkey's stainless flat steel imports amounted to 450,695 metric tons, increasing by 6.7 percent, with a value of $734.5 million, down 14 percent, both year on year.
In the first ten months of this year, South Korea was Turkey's leading import source for stainless flat steel, supplying 168,308 mt, up 8.03 percent year on year. China followed South Korea, with its stainless flat steel exports to Turkey in the given period increasing by 35.01 percent year on year to 66,831 mt.
