According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in September this year Turkey's stainless flat steel imports rose 23.15 percent compared to the previous month, increasing to 37,662 metric tons. The value of these imports amounted to $117.9 million, increasing by 22.9 percent as compared to August this year.
In September, Turkey's stainless flat steel imports from Taiwan amounted to 5,410 metric tons, increasing by 75.9 percent month on month and accounting for approximately 25.3 percent of Turkey's total stainless flat steel imports. Turkey's second biggest source of stainless flat steel imports in September was Finland with 8,356 metric tons, increasing by 37.6 percent compared to August this year.
In the first nine months of this year, Turkey's stainless flat steel imports amounted to 267,123 metric tons. In the given period, stainless flat steel imports from Taiwan came to 61,572 metric tons, while the import volume from South Korea totaled 40,037 mt.
