Turkey's seamless pipe imports up 64 percent in January

In January this year, Turkey's seamless pipe imports amounted to 24,586 metric tons, up 63.97 percent year on year and increasing by 37.44 percent compared to December, while the value of these imports amounted to $30.98 million, up 38.23 percent year on year and rising by 5.47 percent month on month, according to the statistics provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).


 
In January of the current year, Turkey's seamless pipe imports from China, Turkey's largest seamless pipe import source since 2009, amounted to 19,389 metric tons, up 168.77 percent year on year. China was followed by Ukraine and Germany, with respectively 1,928 metric tons and 1,188 metric tons of seamless pipe exports to Turkey in the given month.
