Turkey’s seamless pipe imports up 12.4% in July over June

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in July this year Turkey's seamless pipe imports rose 12.4 percent compared to the previous month and were up 2.7 percent compared to July 2011, amounting to 24,944 metric tons. The value of these imports totaled $34.2 million, increasing 13.2 percent compared to June and down 5.6 percent year on year.

In the first seven months of the year, Turkey's seamless pipe imports amounted to 145,230 metric tons, increasing 3.3 percent compared to the same period of 2011. The value of these imports came to $213.3 million, decreasing by 7.3 percent year on year.

Imports from China in July this year amounted to 16,640 metric tons, almost triple year on year and up 57.8 percent compared to June, while Russia followed China, exporting 3,133 mt of seamless pipe to Turkey in July this year, decreasing by 46.7 percent compared to the same month of 2011.
