Turkey’s scrap imports decline 13.6 percent in January-April

According to the report released by the Turkish Iron and Steel Producers' Association (TCUD), in the January-April period of the current year Turkey's scrap import volume decreased by 13.6 percent to 5.31 million metric tons, while these imports were valued at $1.6 billion, down 31.7 percent, both on year-on-year basis.

In the given period, Turkey's scrap imports from EU countries decreased by 15.6 percent to 2.82 million mt, its scrap imports from the US decreased by 16.7 percent to 1.01 million mt, while scrap imports from CIS countries reached 1.18 million mt, up 16.9 percent, all year-on-year basis.
