Turkey’s rebar exports down three percent in January-February

In February this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 706,828 metric tons, up 11 percent compared to January and falling by 12.4 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $230.15 million, decreasing by 40.3 percent compared to February 2015 and up 10.5 percent month on month.


 
In the January-February period of this year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 1.3 million mt, falling three percent, while the value of these exports decreased by 32.9 percent to $434.5 million, both compared to the same period of the previous year.

In the given period, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was the US which received 269,281 metric tons, down 3.14 percent year on year. The US was followed by Egypt with 268,784 metric tons and the UAE with 244,269 metric tons.
