In November last year, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 496,901 metric tons, down 1.2 percent compared to October and falling by 2.65 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $170.9 million, decreasing by 37.3 percent compared to November 2014 and down 4.4 percent month on month.
In the January-November period, Turkey's rebar exports decreased by 5.5 percent year on year to 6.4 million mt, while the value of these exports stood at $2.74 billion, down 28 percent compared to the corresponding period of 2014.
In the January-November period of last year, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was the US which received 1,215,288 metric tons, up 60.08 percent year on year. The US was followed by the UAE with 1,155,296 metric tons, down 2.44 percent, and Egypt with 722,871 metric tons, up 82.8 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
