Turkey's rebar exports decline in November

In November 2014, Turkey's rebar exports amounted to 510,477 metric tons, decreasing by 26.8 percent year on year and down 20.4 percent from the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $272.67 million, decreasing by 31.9 percent compared to November 2013 and down 23.4 percent from the previous month.


 
On the other hand, in the January-November period of the previous year Turkey's rebar exports stood at 6.77 million metric tons, down 7.4 percent year on year, while the total revenue of these exports amounted to $3.8 billion, decreasing by 11.2 percent year on year.
 
In November 2014, Turkey's largest rebar export destination was the UAE which received 115,858 metric tons, up 308.6 percent year on year. The UAE was followed by the US with 109,442 metric tons, up 139 percent, and Israel with 47,006 metric tons, up 33.65 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In the first 11 months, while the UAE ranked as Turkey's leading rebar export destination, the US occupied second place ahead of Iraq by importing 759,187 mt of rebar from Turkey, up 51 percent year on year.
