Turkey’s passenger car sales up 25.16 percent in August

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive distributor Association (ODD), in the first eight months of this year the domestic passenger car market increased by 20.9 percent compared to the same period last year, with sales rising to 399,429 units. In August, domestic sales of passenger cars totaled 51,611 units, up 25.16 percent compared to August 2012 and down 7.36 percent month on month.

In the first eight months, sales of light commercial vehicles in Turkey declined by 9.08 percent compared to the first eight months of last year, falling to 118,953 units. In August, sales of light commercial vehicles totaled 13,432 units, up 15.4 percent compared to July this year and falling 20.6 percent year on year.
