Turkey’s monthly industrial production index continues to downward trend in January 2009

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜIK), in January  2009, Turkey's monthly industrial production index down by 21.3 percent to 88.6 compared to data of the year-ago period.

According to the release, the industrial production, which was down by 17.6 percent in the last month of 2008, continues to its downward trend. In the sub sector levels of industry, the highest decrease was registered in manufacture industry production index, down by 24.2 percent from 110.2 to 83.5, in January of 2009 over the same month of previous year.
