Turkey’s Izmir Demir issues its financial results for 2008

Turkish long steel producer Izmir Demir Çelik Sanayi A.Ş. (Izmir Demir) has announced its financial results for the year 2008.

In a letter filed to Istanbul Stock Exchange (IMKB), the company said that it registered a net profit of TRY 131.5 million ($84 million) in 2008, up 149 percent compared to 2007.

Meanwhile, the company's sales revenue in 2008 increased by 80 percent year on year to TRY 1.398 billion ($840 million).
