Turkish integrated steelmaker Erdemir's Iskenderun-based subsidiary Isdemir has recently informed its customers that it will stop producing commercial pig iron by the end of April.

SteelOrbis has learned that, in order to focus on the production of high value-added products and also increase its efficiency, Isdemir will no longer produce pig iron after April 30, 2011. In the meantime, to ensure its customers will not face a supply shortage, Isdemir will continue its pig iron supplies until the abovementioned date.
