Turkey’s HRC imports up 2.2 percent in January-August

In August this year, Turkey’s hot rolled coil (HRC) imports amounted to 318,390 metric tons, up by 2.4 percent compared to the previous month and by 0.7 percent year on year, according to the preliminary data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the revenue of these imports totaled $215.66 million, declining by 7.9 percent compared to July and by 20.7 percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in the January-August period of this year, Turkey’s HRC imports amounted to 3.03 million mt, up by 2.2 percent compared to the same period of last year, while the revenue of these imports totaled $2.08 billion, decreasing by 21.7 percent year on year.
