In April this year, Turkey's total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports decreased by 20 percent year on year to 150,503 metric tons, down 18 percent compared to the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These exports had a value of $47.4 million, falling by 15.5 percent month on month and down 42.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
In the first four months this year, Turkey's HRC exports amounted to 569,889 mt, up 28 percent, while the value of these exports decreased by 15.6 percent to $177.4 million, both compared to the same period of 2015.
In the first four months of the current year, Egypt ranked first among Turkey's HRC export destinations, with its HRC imports from Turkey amounting to 104,057 mt, followed by Italy which received 96,609 mt of HRC from Turkey in the given period.
