Turkey’s HRC exports down 35.2 percent in Jan-Sept

In September this year, Turkey’s total hot rolled coil (HRC) exports declined by 17.8 percent compared to August and by 34.1 percent year on year to 96,352 mt, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). These exports had a value of $65.34 million, down by 16.1 percent month on month and by 36.6 percent compared to the same month of 2022.

In the January-September period of this year, Turkey’s HRC exports amounted to 782,192 mt, dropping by 35.2 percent, while the value of these exports fell by 48.5 percent to $570.05 million, both compared to the same period of 2022.

In the given period, Turkey’s largest HRC export destination was Italy which received 217,622 mt, down 8.1 percent year on year. Italy was followed by Egypt with 119,206 mt, down 44.9 percent, and Belgium with 53,478 mt, up 19.6 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
