According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in February this year Turkey's total hot rolled flat steel exports amounted to 103,119 metric tons, decreasing by 24.2 percent year on year and up 64.9 percent compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, the revenue generated by these exports totaled $74 million, falling by 18.3 percent compared to February 2011 and increasing by 70 percent over the previous month.
Turkey's hot rolled flat steel exports in the first two months of the current year totaled 165,660 mt, decreasing by 29.2 percent compared to the same period of 2011.
HR flat steel exports to Italy, which was the largest hot rolled flat steel export destination of Turkey in 2011 accounting for 44 percent of total Turkish HR flat steel exports, decreased by 87 percent in January-February of the current year compared to the same period of 2011.
On the other hand, in February Turkey's cold rolled flat steel exports stood at 8,178 metric tons, decreasing by 37.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and up four percent month-on-month.
