Turkey’s Habaş to build hydrogen production facility in Izmir

Turkey’s Ministry of Environment and Urbanization has announced that the environmental impact assessment (EIA) application made by Turkish steel producer Habaş Sınai ve Tıbbi Gazlar İstihsal Endüstri A.Ş. for its planned Aliağa hydrogen production and filling facility project in İzmir has been examined and that the environmental impact assessment process has begun.

Within the scope of the project with an investment cost of TRY 215 million ($7.9 million), it is planned to produce 1,000 m³/hour of hydrogen. The hydrogen produced will be supplied to the market as well as being used in the company’s cold rolling mill.

The construction works are planned to be completed within six months.
