Turkey’s ferroalloy imports fall in February

According to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in February this year Turkey's ferroalloy imports fell 32.2 percent compared to the previous month to 26,357 mt, following a 50.4 percent month-on-month increase in January, and were down 33.5 percent compared to February 2012. The value of these imports amounted to $36.5 million, decreasing 32 percent compared to the previous month and down 35 percent year on year.

Turkey's ferroalloy imports from India in February amounted to 7,207 metric tons, down 16.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while imports from Russia in January amounted to 6,967 mt, almost triple compared to February of the previous year. Ukraine's ferroalloy exports to Turkey in Febuary amounted to 4,758, down 58.3 percent year on year.
