Turkey’s CRC imports up 24 percent in January-August

In August this year, Turkey’s cold rolled coil (CRC) imports rose by 49.0 percent month on month and by 34.9 percent year on year to 99,822 mt, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $80.83 million, increasing by 36.5 percent compared to the previous month and by two percent year on year.

Meanwhile, in the January-August period of this year, Turkey’s CRC imports amounted to 603,384 mt, up 24.0 percent year on year, while the revenue generated by these imports totaled $487.66 million, falling by 5.1 percent compared to the same period of 2022.

In the first eight months of this year, South Korea ranked first among Turkey’s CRC import sources, supplying 235,787 mt, up 114.1 percent year on year, while South Korea was followed by Russia with 134,948 mt.
