In December last year, Turkey's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports decreased by 11 percent to 54,239 mt compared to the previous month and were up 35.7 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The value of these imports was $26.7 million, decreasing by 9.5 percent month on month and up 51.6 percent year on year.
In 2016, Turkey's CRC imports increased by 16.2 percent to 772,000 mt, while the value of these imports amounted to $349.3 million, falling three percent, both year on year.
Last year, Russia ranked first among Turkey's CRC import sources, supplying 342,213 mt, up 26.01 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the given period, Turkey's CRC imports from Ukraine totaled 137,499 mt, rising by 21.11 percent compared to the same period of 2015.
