Turkey's coking coal imports down 34.7 percent in January-March

In March this year, Turkey's coking coal imports increased by 69.3 percent month on month to 430,101 mt, down 40.1 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports increased by 72.2 percent to $121.1 million compared to the previous month and decreased by 51.6 percent year on year.

In the January-March period of this year, Turkey's coking coal imports decreased by 34.7 percent to 1.01 million mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $301.7 million, down 45.4 percent, both year on year.

In the given period, Turkey's coking coal imports from Australia amounted to 566,775 mt, while coking coal imports from the US totaled 235,394 mt.
