Turkey's chrome ore exports down 30% in January

In January this year, Turkey's chrome ore exports amounted to 146,832 metric tons, down 30.06 percent compared to January 2013 and down 20.46 percent compared to the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The revenue generated by these exports totaled $33.01 million, down 21.28 percent year on year and decreasing by 20.31 percent on month-on-month basis.

In January of the current year, Turkey's largest export destination for chrome ore was China, which received 87,238 mt, down 58.10 percent year on year. Sweden followed China in the month in question, importing 50,096 mt of chrome ore from Turkey.
