In June this year, Turkey's chrome ore exports amounted to 183,175 metric tons, down 8.52 percent compared to June 2013, but up 17.17 percent compared to the previous month, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The revenue generated by these exports totaled $42.33 million, up 3.95 percent year on year and increasing by 17.77 percent on month-on-month basis.
Meanwhile, in the first half of this year, Turkey's chrome ore exports decreased by 14.82 percent to 904,688 metric tons, while the value of these exports declined 4.3 percent to $207.05 million, both on year-on-year basis.
In the first half of the current year, Turkey's chrome ore exports to China, which is the largest export destination for chrome ore exports from Turkey, amounted to 712,041 mt, down 28.01 percent year on year. Sweden followed China in the period in question, importing 142,037 mt of chrome ore from Turkey.
