Turkey-based Celik Makine Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. (Cemtas) has announced that it will halt operations at its  continuous casting line in the June 12-July 2 period and at its rolling mill in the June 24 -July 8 period due to modernization work.

Under the scope of its investment program, modernization work on the continuous casting line will enable Cemtas to produce 200 mm x 200 mm square billets. The company's rolling mill will be revamped to process the new size of square billets.

Cemtas stated that during the halt of production the company will meet the demand of domestic and overseas customers from its inventory.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, Austria-based plantmaker Siemens Metals Technologies announced that it will modernize the bar rolling mill of Cemtas and the modernized rolling mill is scheduled to come into operation at the beginning of 2015.
