In the first half of 2010, Turkish steel wire and rope producer Celik Halat ve Tel Sanayii A.S. produced 26,954 metric tons of steel products, 76.32 percent higher compared to the company's H1 2009 output.
In the given period, the producer's steel rope output totaled 4,124 metric tons, rising by 41.67 percent, its galvanized wire production amounted to 577 metric tons, up 10.33 percent, spring wire output soared by 48.17 percent to 2,590 metric tons, its bead wire production increased by 56.47 percent to 5,650 metric tons, the company's single strand rope output saw a drop of 69.02 percent to 565 metric tons, while its pre-stressed wire strand production totaled 13,449 metric tons, climbing by 2.88 times, all compared to the corresponding period of 2009.
In H1 2010, product sales of Celik Halat ve Tel Sanayii improved by 69.07 percent year on year to 26,961 metric tons. According to the company's statement, exports account for 40 percent of the company's total sales.
The company's net sales revenue in H1 2010 amounted to TRY 46.28 million ($30.59 million), rising by 28.52 percent year on year, while its profit for the period totaled TRY 3.73 million ($2.46 million), compared to a loss of TRY 3.67 million in H1 2009.
Meanwhile, in the second quarter of this year, Celik Halat ve Tel Sanayii posted a net sales revenue of TRY 24.84 million ($16.42 million), which is 50.66 percent higher as compared to Q2 2009, while the company registered a profit of TRY 2.44 million ($1.62 million), compared to loss of TRY 1.14 million in the corresponding period of 2009.
Based in Kocaeli in northwestern Turkey, Celik Halat ve Tel Sanayii has an annual production capacity of 45,000 metric tons, while its domestic market share is about 35 percent.
