Turkey's automotive sales up 50.3 percent in Q1

In the January-March period of this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey increased by 50.3 percent year on year to 173,248 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey increased by 42.13 percent to 126,991 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles went up by 78.43 percent to 46,257 units, both on year-on-year basis.
 
Meanwhile, in March this year domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles increased by 75.07 percent year on year and by 50.5 percent as compared to February, amounting to 83,302 units. In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country increased by 63.11 percent year on year to 61,676 units and were up 51.1 percent month on month, while sales of light commercial vehicles rose by 121.37 percent year on year to 21,626 units and were up 49 percent month on month.
