Turkey's automotive sales up 22.8 percent in October from September

In October this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey increased by 29.2 percent year on year and were up by 22.8 percent month on month to 83,000 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey increased by 32.9 percent year on year and were up by 24.2 percent month on month to 63,746 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles increased by 18.1 percent year on year and were up by 18.5 percent month on month to 19,254 units.
 
Meanwhile, in the January-October period of this year domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw a decrease of 1.1 percent year on year, amounting to 719,499 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country increased by 0.8 percent to 553,111 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 6.7 percent to 166,388 units, both on year-on-year basis.
