Turkey's automotive sales rise 84.6 percent in December over November

In December last year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey increased by 6.25 percent year on year and were up by 84.6 percent month on month to 156,173 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey increased by 3.89 percent year on year and were up by 83.25 percent month on month to 114.340 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles increased by 13.26 percent year on year and were up by 88.4 percent month on month to 41,833 units.
 
Meanwhile, in 2015 domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles increased by 26.1 percent year on year, amounting to 968,017 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country increased by 23.54 percent year on year to 725,596 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles rose by 34.42 percent to 242,421 units, both on year-on-year basis.
