Turkey's automotive sales down 5.5 percent in September from August

In September this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey increased by 5.6 percent year on year and were down by 5.5 percent month on month to 67,593 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey increased by 9.03 percent year on year and were down by 4.9 percent month on month to 51,340 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles decreased by 4.04 percent year on year and were down by 7.55 percent month on month to 16,253 units.
 
Meanwhile, in the January-September period of this year domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw a decrease of four percent year on year, amounting to 636,499 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country decreased by 2.3 percent to 489,365 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 9.2 percent to 147,134 units, both on year-on-year basis.
