Russia's largest oil and gas pipe producer TMK has announced that it has won a contract for the supply of tubulars to Russia's independent gas producer Novatek for its Arctic Circle-located Yurkharovskoye gas field.

According to the contract, TMK will supply 37,000 mt of 426 mm diameter K52 grade gas tubulars with 11 and 12 mm wall thickness. The materials will be produced at TMK's subsidiary Volzhsky Pipe Plant, while the shipments will be commenced in October 2008.

The initial shipments amounting 11,000 mt of pipes will be delivered before January 2008 and a further 26,000 mt will be supplied in the fourth quarter of 2009.

Discovered in 1970, the Yurkharovskoye natural gas and gas condensate field is Novatek's largest field in terms of reserves, and the second-largest in terms of production.
