TMK sees growth in pipe shipments for 2011

Russia-based TMK, one of the world's leading oil and gas steel pipe producers, has announced its production results for the fourth quarter and full year of 2011.

For the fourth quarter of 2011, TMK shipped 1.03 million mt of pipes to customers, representing a 0.8 percent increase compared to the previous quarter. In 2011, the total pipe shipments of TMK increased by 6.6 percent year on year to 4.2 million mt.

In the last quarter of 2011, TMK's oil country tubular good (OCTG) shipment volumes increased by 6.1 percent quarter on quarter, while the full year shipment volumes registered an 8.3 percent growth compared to the previous year. Volumes of large diameter pipe shipments rose 13.3 percent in the fourth quarter compared to the previous quarter; however, for the full year, the volumes decreased by 8.4 percent year on year.

In 2011, TMK shipped about 472,000 premium connections, up 18.9 percent compared to 2010.
